Most painting is rolling a color onto a wall. Some of it is not. Hand-painted murals, team logos, and laid-out patterns are a different craft, and very few painters in the Midlands offer it.
Painted, not printed
A vinyl decal peels at the edges within a couple of years and a printed wallpaper mural shows its seams under raking light. Hand-painted work has neither problem, because it is paint on the wall like everything else in the room. It gets cleaned like the wall, it touches up like the wall, and it lasts like the wall.
It also fits. A printed panel comes in one size and the wall has to accept it. Painted work is measured to the wall it is going on.
What we have painted
Team logos in basements and home offices, a full themed bedroom with a logo and matched striping, striped and color-blocked accent walls, and coffered ceilings picked out in a second color. Most of it is residential, though logos and feature walls come up in commercial spaces too, particularly gyms and retail suites.
The layout gets approved before any paint
This is the part that matters. Anything with a pattern or a logo gets measured and set out on the wall first, in pencil or tape, and you look at it together before a brush touches it. Size, placement, and spacing all read differently on a real wall than they do on a phone screen.
Nothing gets committed until you have seen it at full size in the actual room.
Bring a reference
A photo, a logo file, a color chip, or a room you saw somewhere. We will tell you honestly what translates well to a painted wall and what does not. Very fine detail and photographic gradients are not what brushwork is for, and we would rather say so than take the job and disappoint you.
Getting a price
Size, detail, and number of colors drive it, so a striped accent wall and a full logo mural are very different jobs. The estimate is free and in writing like everything else we quote.
