Available 24/7
Call at 7am or 10pm and someone answers. That is not how most painters run, and it is on purpose.
Free Estimates
We walk the job, measure, and hand you a written scope and price. No charge and no pressure.
Why TAP
You get the owner, not a rotating crew.
Plenty of painters can roll a wall. What decides how a job actually goes is who is standing in your house, whether the surface was prepped or just covered, and whether anyone picks up the phone when something comes up. TAP is built around those three things.
Jason runs the job. The owner walks the estimate, sets the scope, and is on site while the work runs. Not a dispatcher, not a subcontractor you have never met.
Residential and commercial. Homes and businesses both, done to the same standard. Most residential painters cannot show you a warehouse or an office they finished.
We answer 24/7. Painting gets scheduled around real life. The questions that come up at 9pm are usually the ones that matter most.
A written price, free. Scope and cost on paper before anything starts, so you are comparing real numbers instead of verbal ballparks.

How It Goes
Four steps, no surprises.
Free Estimate
We walk the property with you, talk through colors and surfaces, and leave you a written price. No charge, no pressure.
Prep and Protect
Furniture moved and covered, floors protected, surfaces washed, patched, caulked, and sanded. Prep is where a paint job is won or lost.

Walkthrough
We walk it together before we pack up. Anything you want touched, we touch that same day.
Prep is most of the job. Paint is the part you see.
Who You Are Hiring
Built by a painter, not a call center.
TAP Custom Painting is Jason Atkinson's company. 13+ years in, he still walks the estimate, sets the scope, and is on the job while it runs. When you call the number on this page, you are not routed through a dispatcher who has never seen your house.
That is also why the phone is answered around the clock. Painting gets scheduled around real life, and the questions that come up at 9pm are usually the ones that matter. Residential or commercial, the standard does not change, and after 13+ years in the Midlands the work speaks for itself.

Where We Work
Columbia and the Midlands.
Richland, Lexington, and Fairfield counties, plus the towns around them. Every house in the Midlands takes the same beating from heat and humidity, and every town wears it a little differently.
Columbia
Richland County
The core of the Midlands, from 1920s bungalows in Shandon to new construction on the northeast side. Prep changes completely between the two.
West Columbia
Lexington County
Older cottages near the river district alongside newer builds off Sunset. Damp air coming off the Congaree is hard on exterior wood.
Irmo
Richland and Lexington
Lake Murray homes with a lot of exposed siding and trim. Sun and moisture off the water shorten the repaint cycle here.
Lexington
Lexington County
Fast-growing subdivisions where builder-grade paint starts failing around year five. Mostly interior repaints and exterior refreshes.
Cayce
Lexington County
Brick ranches and mill village houses near the Riverwalk. Most of this work is trim, soffits, and full interior repaints.
Blythewood
Richland County
Newer subdivisions with tall two-story elevations. Front gables here mean ladder and lift work, not a quick afternoon.
Chapin
Lexington County
Lake Murray homes with big exteriors, docks, and screened porches. Exterior season books up early on this side of the lake.
Forest Acres
Richland County
Mid-century brick under mature trees. Shade and pollen mean a mildew wash before anything gets a coat of paint.
Questions
Before you call.
It depends on square footage, the condition of the surfaces, how many colors, and whether we are painting inside or out. That is exactly why the estimate is free and in writing. We walk the job, measure, and hand you a price with the scope spelled out, so you are comparing real numbers instead of guesses. Projects of $2,500 or more currently qualify for $250 off.
Yes. TAP Custom Painting LLC is licensed and insured, on residential and commercial work alike. We are happy to send proof before we start.
Yes. Offices, warehouses, retail spaces, and multi-unit properties. Commercial is a real part of the business rather than a sideline, and we schedule around your hours when the work cannot happen during the day.
A single interior room is usually a day. A full interior repaint runs several days. A full exterior depends on size, prep, and weather, and Midlands humidity has a say in it. Your written estimate includes the schedule, and if that changes you hear it from us first.
